North Dakota CIO Corey Mock Secures New Term on NASCIO Executive Committee

The Peace Garden State will continue to have a voice in national discussions about the future of government technology as Corey Mock, Chief Information Officer for the State of North Dakota, continues his service on the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) Executive Committee for the 2026–2027 leadership year.

As an Executive Committee Director, Mock works alongside other state CIOs to strengthen collaboration, address shared challenges, and advance digital government services. NASCIO supports state technology leaders through research, advocacy, and the exchange of ideas and best practices.

No state has all the answers, but we all have something valuable to share, Mock said. Serving on NASCIO’s Executive Committee gives us an opportunity to share what’s working here, learn from the experiences of other states, and bring new ideas home that make a difference for North Dakotans.

Mock first joined the Executive Committee in February 2026, filling the unexpired term of former Michigan CIO Laura Clark. His continued service for the 2026–2027 leadership year builds on that appointment and keeps North Dakota engaged in national conversations about emerging technologies, shared challenges, and the future of government IT.

Technology is changing quickly, and there’s a tremendous opportunity for states to lead the way, Mock added. Among the top priorities identified by state CIOs are AI, cybersecurity, technology modernization, and digital government services. Through NASCIO, we can collaborate, share ideas, and find innovative ways to deliver better services to our citizens.

Before becoming North Dakota’s CIO in 2024, Mock served 16 years in the North Dakota House of Representatives, including leadership roles and service on technology-focused legislative committees. In his current role, he leads North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT). His work emphasizes cross-agency collaboration, public trust, and “humans helping humans” through effective and secure technology.
